Install Midori In Ubuntu, A Fast Loading Web-Browser For GNU Linux

Midori is a GTK based web browser which loads a bit faster (the application itself + some web sites) than Firefox. But, remember, if you're really serious about web browsing with minimal web page rendering errors to which you really can't blame Midori itself since most web sites are created to support major web browsers out of the box, then there are few issues with Midori (not a huge concern by any means though).

But in some occasions Midori has outperformed others with her fast web page rendering nonetheless. Because of this , it is actually the default web browser of the long awaited Elementary OS as well. Anyhow, if you want to install it in Ubuntu (10.04 and 10.10) and give a try anyway, then open your Terminal and issue the below command.

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:midori/ppa

    sudo apt-get update

    sudo apt-get install midori
