Best YouTube Video Downloader Add-on: FastestTube!

There are many online services that let you download YouTube videos these days. But every time you want to download a video, with most most of these services, you'll have to manually copy the Video URL on your Web Browser and then come to their web site and paste it. Although some do let you install their "service" as a tool-bar which makes things much more simpler... yet, having installed a lot of tool-bars can also be a quite a hassle too.

In that sense, FastestTube is an excellent YouTube video downloading add-on (completely free and without ads!) that runs in inside of your Web browser. Thus, it doesn't matter what operating system that you use, as long as you have a "popular" web browser installed whatever the OS that you use such as: GNU/Linux, MS Windows or Mac OSX, etc... FastestTube will work.

Main features...

*. Supports almost all the major web browsers such as : Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Chromium, Internet Explorer, Opera and Apple Safari.

*. You can choose between several downloading options such as different Resolutions (which also depends on the source Video file).

*. Just choose your file type/resolution and simply click on it. The rest is pretty simple.

After installing, whenever you play a YouTube video, you'll see a button called "Download" under the video player window. All you gotta do is just make click on it :). However, since nothing in this world is perfect (oh oh :D). In my opinion, FastestTube does have a weakness.

That is, by default it comes pre-integrated with a service called Adless-Lite which basically replaces (or at lest tries to) some of the online web site advertising services with Twitter, Bing, Google and Wikipedia. For instance, lets say that I search for "How to learn Ubuntu Linux" in Google, then if I have installed FastestTube, to my left side, this add-on will make sure to replace the Adsense ads with Twitter, Wikipedia, Bing search results for that given term as shown below.

Although this could mean something useful for the most people. But I think, sometimes this may slowdown the web site loading times since now we gotta wait till it fetches all those information to our loading web page (and we cannot disable this feature without disabling the whole FastestTube add-on).

Other than that, if you're searching for an easy way to download YouTube videos, then FastestTube is one of the best web browser addons that I've come up so far.

@Anonymous,

Hmm... I totally get it :D

... "thanks" to that Addless-lite, perhaps it might not be the "best" either.

Glad to be of help ;-) Be aware it tries to always find the HQ version of whatever you search for which might not be best for people on slow connections.
