Install Quod Libet in Ubuntu, Another GTK Based Music Player for Gnome

Quod Libet is a GTK based audio player for Gnome desktop. In a way it is very similar to the Xmms (which is like one of the oldest audio players for GNU Linux... I kinda have a history with it ;-) ) and by default it won't confuse with a lot of buttons nor "features" either.

Main GUI...

But for an audio player, it is very powerful and comes with a lot of features such as ...

*. Plays - Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, MP3, WAV, MP4 and WMA.

*. Play-list and album management.

*. Search easily for songs/artists... via the embedded search box.

*. Comes with a panned browser mode - Very similar to the GUI of the Rhythmbox.

One of the available "views"...

*. Internet radio.

*. Fetch album and tack details from web.

*. Podcast/s.

*. Last.fm integration... in fact it supports a plugin protocol that can be used to "expand" its features.

*. CDDB look up support.

*. Rate songs automatically (by analyzing your brain waves!... kidding :P, but it does automatic ratings though).

If you run Ubuntu and thinking about installing Quod Libet, then open your Terminal and enter the below command.

sudo apt-get install quodlibet
